When something keeps getting in the way

You might be experiencing anxiety, low mood or emotional overwhelm without really understanding why. Or perhaps you notice the same reactions, relationship patterns or ways of coping repeating, even when part of you knows how you want to respond.

You may find yourself constantly caring for others, taking on too much responsibility, people-pleasing or putting your own needs aside.

Sometimes we don’t understand why these patterns are there. Other times, we understand them intellectually, but knowing why hasn’t been enough to change how we feel or respond.

Therapy can help you explore what’s happening beneath the surface, process what has kept these patterns in place, and create space for something different.

My approach is trauma-informed, recognising that many of the ways we think, feel and respond may have developed in response to our earlier experiences. Rather than focusing only on changing these patterns, we seek to understand what has shaped them and why they may continue.
