Acceptance & Commitment Therapy (ACT)
Making space for difficult experiences while moving towards what matters
Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) is a practical approach that helps you develop a different relationship with difficult thoughts and emotions, rather than becoming caught up in them or constantly trying to make them disappear. ACT focuses on building psychological flexibility — the ability to make space for uncomfortable internal experiences while choosing actions that are guided by your values and what matters to you.
ACT can be particularly useful when you find yourself overthinking, avoiding difficult emotions, struggling with anxiety or feeling stuck, and want practical strategies to help you respond differently.
In my work, I draw on ACT when it is helpful to support acceptance, mindfulness, values and meaningful action, alongside exploring the deeper emotional and underlying patterns contributing to what you're experiencing.
